The world seemed a little dimmer when I heard the news about Zig Ziglar passing. He has been a great man of encouragement to me and countless others. An announcement posted on his Facebook page captured the essence of his full being with four simple words, “…a life well lived.”
Though I never met this wonderful man, he has been one that has pushed me to always do more and continuously reach higher. His words and faith endlessly resonate in my mind and heart. Knowing that he did what he loved and he did it until the end, shows us all that life lived to the fullest is the only way to truly be alive.
Find Your Drive
Do you have a fiery passion that is stirring within your heart? Sometimes you wonder how it can ever become a career or if you are even able to make a living from it. If that is you, don’t let questions and uncertainty stop your dreams from being realized.
Life is not meant to be unfolded to us and revealing all of its plans at the beginning. Life is meant to be lived each day. When done so, it challenges and pushes us to do greater things. But it starts with the seeds of passion and it is only you that can make them grow.
You have to find that drive and you have to find that desire to turn a dream into reality. Friends, family, or strangers can do it for you. However, others, like Zig Ziglar, can help you realize them and formulate your victory plan.
“You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help enough other people get what they want.” – Zig Ziglar
When The Race Is Done
At some point we all come to the finish line and when that happens, what will your journey look like when you gazed back upon it? Will it be one of excitement and achievements or will it be full of “if only’s” or “if I had it to do over again’s”?
Right now is you chance to make things happen. You have the opportunity to take the first steps towards your joy today. But it is only YOU that can proceed down YOUR path.
As for you and I, when we finally round that corner and the white finish line is in sight, I want us to be full of peace and contentment knowing that we lived our lives to the fullest. I want us to have done everything we could have possibly done up to that point. And when we cross that line and finally rest, then I hope someone will say the same about you and I as they did for Zig; “… a life well lived.”
Thank You Zig Ziglar
God bless you Mr. Ziglar and may God continually bless your family and all those you have inspired, and yet to inspire, over the years. Rest well.
